the waves of longing.
the watery distance is blistered,
the very currents are wrecked.
a child
strolling by the cloudy inlet,
chilled to the bone,
watches a fisherman
toss his line,
powerless to hook
the deeply harbored warmth,
the ocean’s heart.
But now,
in a blink of years,
everything changes.
truth makes a whirring sound inside,
recollections are redundant,
and comfort might just be ok,
sitting quietly
by the slapping, lapping bay. |
